Virtual Construction Software Suite

Virtual Construction Software suite is a highly integrated 5D solution designed specifically to bring the benefits of BIM to construction companies. The software synchronize 3D virtual construction model, estimating and schedulig data and help construction firms determine how best to construct buildings. The Virtual Construction suite covering project constructability, estimating, cost management, schedule planning, procurement and, change management processes.

Vico Software Estimator

Vico Software Estimator 2008 is a unique 3D model-based estimating system. By using quantities extracted from Vico Software Constructor 3D models, highly accurate estimates can be created in less time. The “what you see is what you estimate” approach reduces inaccuracies and risks and helps you identify and communicate the relations between quantities, cost and locations.

Estimator 2008 supports large projects by enabling merging of separate sub-models quantities into a one coherent project estimate and by providing comprehensive Bid packages tools and versioning functionality.

Vico Software Control

Vico Software Control™ is a unique location-based construction management system. Which enable the creation of significantly compressed schedules without increasing risk. Vico Control 2008 is modular software – the combination of features can be tailored to customers' needs. The Standard package includes Schedule Planning, Project Control, Procurement, and Risk Management. Advanced features include Micromanagement, Costs, and even Logistics and Quality.

Flowline is also known as "Line-of-Balance". The reason this system is so different is that it is based on a location-based methodology. This methodology is perfect for construction because it allows you to easily manage how crews move from location to location on a complete project. All the other scheduling systems are activity-based (good for building an airplane engine in a factory) forcing the user to manually take into account locations and make subjective determinations of duration for completing an activity at any specific location.

The "Flowline" view allows users to better visualize and manage the relationship between tasks and the flow of crews as they progress from location to location. The components of the system include: Schedule Planning Risk Analysis Procurement Planning Production Control DYNAProject gives users the ability to deliver projects faster while better managing risk and increasing productivity, predictability and transparency. DYNAProject has been designed specifically for the construction industry. A powerful management and communication tool, Vico Software's 5D Presenter can be used by the entire project team to view model data, schedules and cost information along with an interactive, realistic 3D view. This advanced tool gives the construction team a unified and interactive 5D view of the project's progress.
Equipped with Earned Value Analysis capability, 5D Presenter 2008 enhance the project management team's ability to track project progress and related costs by revealing the correlation between budgeted/actual cost and scheduled/actual work performed .

DynaRoad

DynaRoad™ is a schedule and mass haulage optimisation system for heavy construction projects. The system provides substantial cost savings due to shortened mass haul distances and increased effectiveness in resource and schedule control.

Utilization in all project steps

Dynaroad™ includes all the tools needed for planning and controlling the schedule and mass haulage projects. The system can be utilized in all project steps:
1) Design control
2) Tender calculation
3) Production planning
4) Project implementation / production control

Cost savings due to increased effectiveness; simultaneous computer assisted planning of schedule and mass haulage decreases the need of stockpiling and double work.

Effective design control

The mass haul related cost effects of different schedule alternatives are can be calculated using DynaRoad. Weak spots in the designs, such as parts causing long mass haul distances, mass deficit or surplus are identified and communicated to the designers via clear graphs and reports with instructions on how to improve on their designs.

Shortened planning time

It is possible to create and examine the cost effect of multiple schedules and haul plan alternatives in a fraction of the time required when using conventional methods. This is achieved for example by automating routine calculations such as mass haul plans and cost calculations. Resource based planning points out potential scheduling problems as early as in the tender phase. Plans are created using graphical mass haul diagrams, TD-charts, resources graphs and a location aware GANTT chart. All the data is also available summarised and filtered in text reports.

Project control

DynaRoad is used to provide a systematic approach to project cost and schedule control. Actuals from the site are compared with planned amounts, costs, haul distances and resources. In the case of deviations, DynaRoad can be used to forecast the cost and schedule effects of the deviation and suggest the best control action to minimise the negative effects.

Cutting edge Technology

DynaRoad utilises two different advanced calculation methods for creating either the best possible mass haul plan or an efficient resource-based schedule and mass haul plan. The automatic calculations are designed to assist the planner in finding the best possible solutions. All the solutions given by these calculations can be altered by the planner at any stage.

Developed in co-operation with leading contractors

The DynaRoad system has been developed in close co-operation with the leading Finnish contractors and design engineers to suit their needs. The development process is closely guided by industry experts to ensure a set of tools that meets requirements. DynaRoad has been developed in collaboration with Lemcon, Skanska-Tekra., Tieliikelaitos and Helsinki University of Technology - construction economics and management.
